Winter
Real winter: snow, freeze-thaw cycles, and temperatures that regularly dip into the teens and 20s. Cross-country skiing at local parks, fat biking on groomed trails, and ice skating when the lakes cooperate. A good coat and good tires solve most of it.
Spring
Muddy, then glorious. Trails dry out, the Huron River wakes up, and patios fill fast. Morel season if you know where to look.
Summer
Warm without being brutal, with highs mostly in the upper 70s to mid-80s. Lake days, river floats, outdoor concerts, and long evening rides. Humidity shows up, but so does every reason to be outside.
Fall
The payoff. Peak color usually hits mid-October, cider mills open up, and football Saturdays take over. Ask any local: fall is why we put up with February.
